Overview

AWWA Transitional Shelter provides temporary shelter for displaced families and individuals who have exhausted all housing options.

Social workers collaborate with residents to:

  • Create plans for long-term housing
  • Support financial stability
  • Assist with children's education

Supportive group activities are facilitated for residents.

Post-discharge support is offered for six months to help with transition and access to local services.

Displaced families and, from April 2025, displaced individuals who have exhausted all housing options. Application requires referral from a Family Service Centre (FSC).

How to apply

Visit your nearest Family Service Centre (FSC) for a referral. The FSC will download the application form and submit the referral through Case Connect.
