SIET Bursary

The SIET-SINDA Bursary provides monthly financial assistance to eligible full-time post-secondary and tertiary students of Indian or South Asian origin in Singapore. Award amounts vary by education level and are disbursed for up to 9–12 months.

  • Specifically supports Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents of Indian or other South Asian origin, in partnership with SINDA.
  • Fixed monthly quantum varies by level of study and is disbursed for up to 9–12 months, with awards starting from the month of application.
  • Closing date: 30th September every year

Eligibility details

  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents of Indian or other South Asian origin (e.g., Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal)
  • Full-time students currently enrolled in an eligible government post-secondary/tertiary institution (e.g., JC, ITE, polytechnics, universities)
  • Household Per-Capita Income (PCI) of $1,600 per month or less
  • Must have applied for financial assistance (e.g., bursary, tuition grant, or loan) with their institution before applying for the SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary Award
  • Required to participate in at least one SINDA programme per year
  • Must be registered students for the entire duration of their course
  • All applicants must attend an interview with SIET management

How to apply

  1. Confirm you meet the eligibility criteria and are enrolled in an eligible government post-secondary/tertiary institution (refer to the List of Eligible Post-Secondary Institutions here: https://siet.sg/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Annexe-A-List-of-Eligible-Government-Post-Secondary-Institutions.pdf)
  2. Must have applied for financial assistance such as Ministry of Education (MOE) or Higher Education Community Bursary, Tuition Grant/Loan etc. with their institution prior to applying for SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary Award.
  3. Submit your SIET bursary application via the “Apply Now” link on the SIET Bursary page
