Skills & Enterpreneurship Program

The Friends of the Disabled Society (FDS) Skills & Entrepreneurship Program empowers individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities by providing craft-making training, marketing skills, and income-earning opportunities to foster independence and self-sufficiency. The program features the following core components:

• Art and Craft Development (ACDMS): Members learn and create handicrafts and are paid based on the pieces they produce.
• Instructor Training: Participants learn to teach art and craft classes to others.
• Support Staff Employment: Following a 3-month probation period, individuals may be employed as support staff with Friends of the Disabled Society on standard salaries and receive CPF contributions.
• Entrepreneurship & Sales: Participants practice entrepreneurial skills by selling their items during pop-up sales and community craft markets.
