MCAS Financial AId

MCAS offers a bursary providing financial assistance for education to eligible applicants within the Muslim converts community and their families in Singapore.

Overview

The programme offers five types of financial assistance:

  • Family Aid for households with members temporarily unable to work and needing medium-term support;
  • Fidyah Aid for those seeking food assistance;
  • Chronic Aid for those suffering from acute illnesses requiring specialist medical treatment or expensive drugs;
  • Gharimin for those needing help with payments to public agencies; and
  • Lifelong Support Aid for unemployed individuals aged 65 and above with no children or who do not receive financial support from their children.

Eligibility details

Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, provided that at least one immediate family member is a Singapore Citizen. To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Singaporean/PR, or households containing both Singaporean and PR beneficiaries
  • Gross monthly household income below $1,900, or monthly per capita income (PCI) not exceeding $400
  • Have limited savings
  • Satisfy a means test
  • Have inadequate family and/or community support
  • Individuals with terminal or chronic medical conditions
  • Individuals who have been retrenched or lost their employment
