Filos: Family, Children & Youth programmes

Filos Community Services provides parenting, literacy, and youth development programmes to strengthen families and support children and youths—especially from disadvantaged backgrounds—through evidence-based workshops, educational support, and healthy lifestyle initiatives.

Overview

  • A suite of Family, Children & Youth programmes by Filos Community Services designed to build resilient families and support children and youths from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Parenting Programmes (Parents Plus) offer evidence-based workshops to help parents build positive relationships and manage emotional and behavioural issues, with modules tailored to children across age groups (1–6, 6–12, 11–16) and a special needs track for parents of children and young adults (11–25).
  • Children & Youth Programmes promote educational equity through literacy and numeracy support, including weekly Reading Room (storytelling), Little Sprouts Phonics (preschool phonics), Early Learning (age-appropriate literacy/numeracy), and Tuition (P1–P6 core subjects run by volunteers).
  • Holistic development initiatives foster life skills, resilience, and healthy habits via Green Spot activities, Total Recall (elderly-awareness life skills), and Project P.E.E.R. (Play. Eat. Exercise. Rest) that shares health messages on socialisation, nutrition, physical activity, and sleep.
  • Activities may include enrichment sessions, meaningful holiday programmes, and family outings to strengthen parent-child bonding and promote well-being within the community.
