Professional deputies and donees for those lacking capacity.
Overview
TOUCH provides professional deputies and donees (PDD) services for individuals who lack mental capacity and do not have suitable family members to act as proxy decision-makers.
Registered professionals can be appointed to manage:
- Personal welfare
- Property
- Affairs under the Mental Capacity Act
Appointments can be made through:
- Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
- Court-appointed deputyship
Additional services include:
- Guidance for family members acting as deputies
- Support for advance care planning (ACP)
- Legacy planning
Fees apply for professional appointments.
All deputies are registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).

Eligibility details
- Individuals who lack mental capacity and do not have a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
- Seniors with modest assets and at least one property
- Persons who do not have a trusted or close family member to be their proxy decision-maker
- Deputies who manage up to $80,000 of the individual's assets
- Anyone above 21 years old can make an Advance Care Plan (ACP)
How to apply
- Call 9653 1076 or email enquirypdd@touch.org.sg to enquire.
- Sign the letter of engagement to appoint a professional donee.
- Complete and submit the LPA form.
- Meet your professional donee. For ACP: Book an appointment by phone or email, attend a session (Tele-ACP or in-person at TOUCH centres), and documentation will be uploaded to the National Electronic Healthcare Record system.
