Overview
Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) is a Housing & Development Board (HDB) scheme that subsidises home modifications to make HDB flats safer and more accessible for seniors. It helps households install safety features and minor renovations that reduce fall risks and improve mobility within the home.
- Subsidised safety modifications such as slip-resistant bathroom flooring, grab bars, ramps at entrances, and widening of toilet/bathroom entrances
- Aims to enhance safety, independence, and ease of movement for older adults living at home
- Disability assessment (Functional Assessment Report) supports determining eligibility for seniors aged 60–64 who need assistance with activities of daily living
- EASE (Private) will be available in phases from 1 April 2026 for residents in private properties

Eligibility details
Applicant must be a Singaporean HDB flat owner or registered tenant with a family member living in the household who is either: (1) 65 years and older; or (2) aged 60–64 and needs help with at least one activity of daily living, supported by a Functional Assessment Report (FAR) completed by an approved assessor (GP, registered nurse, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist under the relevant councils). Assessment fees, if any, are payable by the applicant. EASE (Private) will be available from 1 April 2026 in phases for private property residents.
How to apply
Apply via one of the following HDB channels: (1) As part of HDB’s Home Improvement Programme (HIP); (2) Online through the EASE (Direct Application) e-Service; or (3) Via the Mobile@HDB app. A Functional Assessment Report (FAR) by an approved healthcare professional is required for seniors aged 60–64 who need assistance with activities of daily living.
