Overview
SIWEC’s Education Support Programmes ensure that no child is left behind due to financial constraints by covering essential school-related expenses and providing academic support.
- Helps students from low-income families, including those on MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) and School Assistance Scheme (SAS), as well as families under SIWEC’s assistance
- Covers key education costs such as school fees, textbooks, uniforms, and school bus expenses, including support for Non-Tamil Indian Languages (NTIL)
- Provides targeted academic support in core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Mother Tongue/NTIL) through the Academic Excellence Programme for students who cannot afford tuition
- Tailors support to each student’s needs and monitors progress to encourage holistic development, confidence, and resilience
- Aligns support with the academic calendar to sustain learning outcomes

Eligibility details
- Students under SIWEC’s assistance scheme, or students supported by MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) and/or School Assistance Scheme (SAS)
- Students needing support for English, Mathematics, Science, Mother Tongue, or NTIL subjects
- For tuition support (Academic Excellence Programme): prioritised for students struggling academically whose families cannot afford tuition
- All applications undergo assessment to determine eligibility and suitability
- Support period aligns with the academic calendar
