Overview
The OMEGA (Oasis for Mindful Enrichment, Growth, and Advancement) program by Brahm Centre empowers Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) in Singapore through skills development, well-being support, and cultural integration.
- Practical language learning: Chinese and English conversational classes to improve communication with employers and the community
- Life skills and personal development: Personal hygiene and grooming to build confidence and professionalism
- Creative and practical skills: Basic sewing; art and craft for self-expression and practical use
- Community and cultural integration: Festive celebrations to learn about and participate in diverse cultural traditions
- Emotional and mental well-being: Professional counselling in a safe, confidential space to address personal challenges
The program aims to strengthen employer-MDW relationships, enhance MDWs’ welfare, and build supportive peer networks. Initially focused on Burmese- and Indian-speaking MDWs, it intends to expand to other groups over time.
